10/19/20 Qualifications CDL Required Safely operate tractor/trailer/refer equipment (53' trailer) Regular yard checks to be performed throughout the shift to ensure temperatures, fuel levels, seals, e.g., are maintained properly Must be able to endure a good deal of walking, bending and lifting. Hook/unhook trailer to/from tractor Work in adverse weather conditions Complete all necessary paperwork Must be able to back trailers up to dock doors, often with other trailers on either side of the dock Perform pre and post-move inspections on tractors and trailers Must repeatedly climb in and out of tractor to hook, unhook and inspect trailers Must know how to monitor and adjust temperature settings for the specific requirements if needed Safe Driving Record Should possess adequate communication skills in order to understand written and spoken instructions Excellent safety awareness Good Organizational Skills The above job description may not include all tasks necessary to complete the job.
