• Posted on April 17, 2026 Published By Camille Baker Trillium Construction is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators near Emporia, VA to support the foundation work for a large-scale power plant construction project. This role is critical to the early phases of the build and requires operators who can work efficiently, safely, and with precision in a fast-paced job site environment. Key Responsibilities
• Operate heavy equipment including loaders, skid steers, GPS dozers, excavators, and motor graders
• Perform site preparation, grading, trenching, and material movement for foundation work
• Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and GPS controls when applicable
• Work closely with site supervisors and crews to meet project timelines and production goals
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintain equipment in safe working condition
• Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety protocols at all times Pay rate is up to $30/hour.

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment on commercial or industrial construction projects
• Experience with loaders, skid steers, GPS bulldozers, excavators, and/or motor graders
• Preference for operators with multi-equipment experience, but strong experience on one or two pieces of equipment will be considered
• Experience with GPS-controlled grading systems is a plus
• Ability to read site plans and understand grade requirements
• Strong awareness of safety procedures and job site hazards
