Your Responsibilities Equipment operators may perform any combination of duties on construction projects, usually working in utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another where demands require. Perform set up work on the equipment and the job site prior to the operation of the machine. Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment. Able to make sound judgments and decisions, change tasks often, responsible for various duties and completing precise work. Able and willing to climb down from the machine and help on the ground doing prep work and site work including pipe laying and utility work. Must have a basic understanding of reading blueprints. Must have a basic understanding of lasers and elevations. Must have the ability and knowledge to safely operate various kinds of heavy equipment. Work with construction crews operating heavy machinery such as large and small dozers, large and small excavators, backhoes, graders, front-end loaders, and forklifts. Utilizes lasers and basic elevation tools to achieve precise grading and trenching results. Experience with Trimble grade control beneficial. Willing to travel out-of-town. Your Experience & Qualifications 3+ years directly working in Civil Construction, operating multiple pieces of Heavy Equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, etc.) Strong understanding of site grading, excavation, trenching, and backfilling operations. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and grade stakes. Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and procedures. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a crew. Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
