This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a variety of heavy construction equipment on heavy civil and infrastructure projects. Operators may be assigned to excavation, grading, road construction, utilities, site development, or aggregate operations depending on experience and project needs. We are looking for dependable professionals who take pride in their work, operate equipment safely, and contribute positively to a team‑oriented jobsite culture. Equipment May Include (but is not limited to) Excavators Bulldozers Loaders Haul Trucks / Articulated Trucks Motor Graders Scrapers Compactors / Rollers Water Trucks and Support Equipment Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate heavy construction equipment in accordance with company policies, manufacturer guidelines, and all local, state, and federal regulations Perform daily pre‑operation inspections and basic preventive maintenance Work closely with foremen, grade checkers, and other crew members to meet production and quality goals Read and understand site plans, stakes, grades, and job instructions as applicable Maintain safe working distances from personnel, structures, and utilities Follow all company safety rules, attend safety meetings, and report hazards, near‑misses, or incidents immediately Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, orderly, and professional manner Adapt to varying jobsite conditions, weather, and schedules Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion Required Qualifications Previous experience operating heavy civil construction equipment Strong understanding of jobsite safety and hazard awareness Ability to work effectively as part of a crew Willingness to follow company policies, safety programs, and drug‑free workplace requirements Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain Preferred Qualifications Multiple equipment certifications or demonstrated versatility across machines Experience in heavy civil, highway, utilities, or site development work Valid driver's license (CDL a plus, depending on assignment) Familiarity with grade control systems (GPS / machine control) First Aid / CPR certification Physical Requirements Physically able to perform the typical duties on a construction site.
