Heavy Equipment Operator-Entry Level

Our normal scope of work includes; site clearing, mass earth moving, site work, building excavation, basement excavation, and site utilities (water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer). Although most of our projects are commercial, we also do some residential.

Essential Job Functions:

Other duties may be required and assigned. Able to skillfully operate heavy equipment (Excavator, Dozer, Loaders, Off-road Dump Trucks, Skid Steers, Rollers etc.) This position will primarily operate a haul truck, however, at times you will be required to run other equipment and perform manual labor. Able to work independently and with others to complete grading and excavating tasks from start to finish on a project Read, interpret, and execute plans (architectural, civil, structural, etc.) Obtain and hold a Class A CDL (preferred but not required) Operate TopCon GPS System or have the ability to learn this system Perform manual labor (may be required to lift in excess of 75 pounds) Maintain/Service equipment Communicate efficiently and effectively with other crew members. Establish correct grades and elevations, slopes, and offsets Recognize/ Identify various soil classifications Willingness to work with Utility crew within company as needed Able to perform and train essential job functions Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this position: 2+ years heavy equipment experience (preferred but not required) Experience working with a grade laser Intermediate computer knowledge and efficiency along with construction math skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills and the ability to follow through with solutions High level of self-motivation Attention to detail Valid driver's license Be willing to operate all equipment and perform manual labor Maintain and Promote a safe working environment Individual must be flexible, dependable, and effectively communicate with the team Commercial Landscaping experience (preferred) Benefits (available after waiting period): Health Insurance 401(k) Dental insurance Life insurance Paid time off Paid Travel Time Vision insurance Weekly Pay Paid Holidays Potential for increased pay with performance Pay is solely based on performance, as this is a merit shop company •Starting Pay is based on experience.
