About Your Role The Loader Operator will be responsible for the day-to-day dock operations to offload vessels or barges and load trucks and railcars in support of distribution of products. This position will participate in facility maintenance and will allocate resources to ensure dock goals and objectives are achieved on time. This position will also participate in the safe operation of plant blending, loading operations, and use of metering equipment. Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Assist with other duties as assigned. Loading/ Unloading Operations
  • Proficiency of safe utilization of heavy equipment including a front-end loader for trucks and railcars, utilization of systems including hosing and pumps necessary for barges or vessels in the dock slip. Plant blending activities
  • Proficient in the safe operation of plant blending, loading and using metering equipment including ratio calculations, visual product checks, high-capacity production and quality control as required by various operator certification levels. Site Maintenance
  • Assist in dock maintenance including snow removal, mowing, general preventative maintenance of equipment, general maintenance and cleaning of site as needed. Core Competencies Teamwork

Supervisory Responsibilities The position does not have any regular responsibility for overseeing or supervising the work of other team members. Working Conditions The work environment is a typical dock and plant environment. The employee must complete their work satisfactorily in an environment where there are significant distractions, including staff, clients, and vendors walking through and conversing, telephones ringing, conversations carrying over, loud noises, and interruptions to answer questions from others. This position may be exposed to chemicals, extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, and wind. The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
