Electronic (Using your CalCareer Account) Job Description and Duties Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s). Under direction of the Supervisor of Building Trades, the Painter II is responsible for the operation and coordination of all work in the Maintenance Paint Shop. Must possess skill in painting and finishing of interior and exterior of buildings, equipment and in use of hand and power painting tools. Completes daily/weekly work logs. Demonstrates the best methods of painting and finishing and ensures that the work is carried out according to plans and specifications and is coordinated with other trades. Must be punctual, read and write at a level appropriate to the classification. Maintains order and supervises the conduct of persons committed to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation; prevents escapes and injury by these persons to themselves or others or to property; maintains security of working areas and work materials; inspects premises and searches inmates for contraband such as weapons or illegal drugs. Shall be required to undergo a physical and pulmonary examination for the respirator program. May be required to be certified in aerial lift operations.
