The Painter is responsible for preparing and applying protective and decorative coatings to various surfaces including equipment, structures, and metal components. The role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and adherence to project specifications and quality standards. Report to work on time and as scheduled. Conduct and review a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before starting any task. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, or blasting to remove old paint, rust, and contaminants. Apply coatings including paint, epoxy, enamel, and sealants using brushes, rollers, or spray guns. Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces such as various metal types for finishing. Mask and cover surfaces using tape, drop cloths, and paper to protect areas not to be painted. Ensure proper adhesion and uniformity of coatings through careful application and inspection. Inspect painted surfaces for quality and conformance to project specifications. Maintain all painting equipment in clean and serviceable condition. Follow proper disposal procedures for hazardous materials and paints. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by sweeping the area daily or as needed. Always present a positive and professional attitude toward customers and colleagues. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
