Full Job Description Summary:
As a painter, your primary responsibility is maintaining the aesthetic appeal and physical integrity of the hotel's interior and exterior surfaces through painting and finishing techniques. With precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship, you will create a visually stunning environment that enhances the guest experience and upholds the hotel's reputation of excellence.
Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks or holes, and applying primers or sealants as needed to ensure smooth, clean, and properly prepared surfaces for painting. Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and furniture, using brushes, rollers, sprayers, or other tools and techniques to achieve desired results. Match paint colors and finishes to existing surfaces or specified color schemes, ensuring consistency and accuracy in color matching and application throughout the hotel property. Apply specialty finishes, such as faux finishes, decorative techniques, or textured coatings, to create unique and visually appealing effects that enhance the ambiance and design of hotel spaces. Use masking tape and drop cloths to protect adjacent surfaces Ensure high standards of quality and craftsmanship in painting and finishing work, including smooth application, even coverage, proper drying times, and attention to detail in edging, cutting in, and trim work. Perform maintenance and repair tasks on painted surfaces, such as touch-ups, repainting, or refinishing, to address wear and tear, damage, or deterioration and maintain the appearance and condition of hotel facilities. Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff, contractors, designers, and hotel management to coordinate painting projects, schedule work activities, and ensure timely completion of tasks with minimal disruption to guests and operations. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including proper handling of paints, solvents, and other chemicals, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and compliance with health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Experience/Qualifications:
6+ months of related experience is required Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently Must be able to legally work in the USA. Education and Certification(s)/License(s): High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Discover Life at
