Description Blue Swell is hiring a Painter / Drywall Finisher. Work will be done in Panama City Beach and 30A. Job duties include drywall finishing, painting. Applicants who are fully tooled are encouraged to apply however it is not a requirement. We are seeking highly motivated professional to join our team. Essential Duties:
Responsible for the repair, maintenance, (interior painting, patching of drywall and furniture refinishing), in accordance with company standards. Must have knowledge of appropriate paint and various surfaces. Receive daily work assignments from Supervisor/Manager and review priorities and special projects. Repair and maintain all painted surfaces and items, including preparation and installation of all types of latex, enamels etc. Repair vinyl and wallpaper. Strip and refinish guestroom furniture. Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments. Maintain time lines and work schedule in accordance with the preventive maintenance program. Check work orders for any problems. Make rounds checking these problem areas, note any touch-up needs and/or safety concerns. Maintain stock levels of brushes, rollers and other supplies. Communicate requisition needs to Supervisor/Manager. Maintain for the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools (i.e. brushes, rollers, paint sprayers, trays, ladders, scaffolds etc.) and supplies. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work areas to include inventories, requisitions (receipt and storage) and trash removal and clean up. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. Ensure security of all assigned keys and door codes. Help with cost estimates of labor and material required for specific projects. Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving and review status of assignments and any follow up actions with Supervisor/Manager. Assist with any special projects assigned. Assist with any carpentry work required, including shelves, bookcases or any other special projects. Assist with maintenance including caulking bathtubs and grouting tiles. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work locations. Recommend safety ideas and participate in safety programs as directed by Supervisor/Manager. Other duties as assigned by Management. 2. Skills Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all company/departmental policies/service procedures/standards. Working knowledge of different types of paints, stains and finishes and their applications. Knowledge of the use and application of wall coverings. Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal. 3. Personal Effectiveness Projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care. Adjusts to high-pressure conditions and is open to change. Consistently maintain positive and helpful demeanor. Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development. Conducts him/herself (acts and dresses) professionally at all times; sets standards for all associates. 4. Communication Expresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively and professionally. Actively listens to others. Conveys company information, decision, or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basis. Works to resolve disagreements and is respectful of peers and co-workers. Represent efficiency and friendliness in a manner that leaves a lasting impression. Greet every customer with a smile at 10 feet and a verbal greeting at 5 feet. 5. These are required of every associate. Lifting and carrying of up to 10 pounds. Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity. Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Moving of up to 50 pounds. Ability to work from heights.
