Duties Prepare surfaces meticulously by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Use hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and sanders to apply paints, stains, varnishes, and specialty coatings. Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine surface dimensions, color schemes based on color theory principles, and project specifications. Execute commercial, medical, and industrial painting projects with precision, including interior trim carpentry, fixture installation, stucco application, masonry finishing, and restoration work. Perform surface repairs like drywall patching and minor framing carpentry to prepare for painting. Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and materials while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites. Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople such as carpenters and masons to ensure seamless project execution during renovation or remodeling efforts. Experience Proven construction site experience with a strong background in construction painting across commercial, medical or industrial settings. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills for measuring surfaces accurately. Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools used in painting and surface preparation. Knowledge of various painting techniques including airless spray application and specialty coatings like stucco or industrial paints. Skilled in caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, restoration work, and maintenance tasks related to building finishes. Experience working with schematics or technical drawings is highly valued. Prior maintenance person experience or background in renovation projects is a plus for versatility on the job site.
