This position is responsible for executing professional painting services on commercial projects, ensuring high-quality finishes and efficient site operations. $20 to $30 Per Hour BOE Responsibilities:
Prepare various surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and filling holes or cracks. Apply paint, stains, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Protect surrounding surfaces and furniture using drop cloths, tape, and plastic sheeting. Mix, match, and thin paints to achieve specific colors and textures as required by project specifications. Operate and maintain painting equipment, including pressure washers, sanders, and sprayers. Set up and work from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts to reach elevated areas safely. Clean up job sites and properly dispose of materials according to safety regulations. Perform touch-ups and final inspections to ensure consistency and quality standards meet client expectations. Collaborate with other site trades to ensure project timelines and workflows are maintained. Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in commercial painting or a related skilled trade. Proficiency with a variety of painting tools and techniques, including airless sprayers. Knowledge of different paint types, primers, and coatings suitable for commercial environments. Ability to read and interpret project specifications or color charts accurately. Reliable transportation to and from various commercial job sites in the Chicago area. Ability to work independently or as part of a crew to meet project deadlines. Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time. Comfortable working at heights on ladders, scaffolding, or man-lifts. Manual dexterity and steady hands for detailed brushwork and cutting-in. Exposure to paint fumes, dust, and outdoor weather conditions. Ability to reach overhead and perform repetitive motions for the duration of a shift. Pay Transparency:
