Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Painter in Houma, Louisiana.
POSITION SUMMARY
Primary duties involve surface preparation and the application of paint products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assure the surface is clean and prepared to accept the new paint application. Protect any surfaces where paint is not applied by masking or greasing the area. Prepares paint product and applies, consistently producing a high-quality finish in the most efficient manner possible. Check environmental conditions such as temperature, dew point, etc. to access paint application and cure time. Keep painting equipment, hoses, and tools in good working order. Inspect all equipment used, perform minor repairs, and clean equipment as well as work area. Consistently produce a high-quality finish in the most efficient manner possible. Use blasting medium and equipment to remove paint, rust, or clear coat from material in an efficient manner. Perform visual inspection to assure surface is free from any coatings. Keep blasting equipment and other tools in good working order. Inspect all equipment used, perform minor repairs and clean equipment as well as the work area. Maintain and fill blasting material containers.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process appropriate paperwork. May assist in other areas of the facility, particularly the paint area. Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Generally, a minimum of three years prior experience with painting and blasting operations. Basic verbal communication and reading skills. Ability and knowledge of the operation of painting and blasting equipment and various hand tools. Ability to follow both simple and detailed directions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing, carrying, bending, stooping, crawling, pushing/pulling, walking, and kneeling. Lifting requirement of 45 lbs. Ability to wear a respirator for extended periods of time. Non-climate-controlled environment.
