Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Painter to join our team. In this role, you will support painting and renovation projects throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area, including federal government facilities and other secure sites. The commercial painter will have experience with commercial painting, surface preparation, coatings application, and maintaining high-quality workmanship in occupied and secure environments. Responsibilities (but not limited to): Perform interior and exterior commercial painting work. Read and follow project specifications and safety requirements. Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming. Fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. Remove fixtures, such as doorknobs or electric switch covers before painting. Smooth surfaces as needed, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, or sanding machines. Ability to properly set up, maintain and work from extension ladder, up to 16' A frame ladder and baker scaffolding while following OSHA guidelines. Protect surrounding areas and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Ensure quality by inspecting completed work and performing necessary touch-ups as needed. Maintain and clean painting equipment regularly. Work independently and as part of a project team to meet schedules and quality standards. Comply with all site security, safety, and access requirements. Comply with OSHA and company safety regulations.
Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship is required due to federal government contract and/or security requirements associated with this position. Ability to successfully complete required background investigations and screenings to obtain and maintain access to facilities. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Experience painting residential or commercial spaces. Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, coatings, and painting equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Comfortable working on ladders and scaffolding. Ability to lift and carry 20-30 lbs. at a time. Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations. Demonstrate strong communication skills and effective collaboration with team members.
