Job Description

An Old Edwards Engineering Specialist - Painter is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and aesthetic upkeep of all painted surfaces across the property. This role ensures that guest-facing and back-of-house areas maintain the highest standards of appearance through expert painting, finishing, and surface preparation, while also supporting general engineering duties as needed. Responsibilities Perform interior and exterior painting projects including walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and specialty finishes. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming to ensure high-quality finishes. Match and mix paints, stains, and coatings to maintain brand and property standards. Maintain painting tools, equipment, and inventory of supplies. Inspect painted surfaces and identify areas requiring touch-ups or full refinishing. Respond to work orders and radio calls in a timely manner. Coordinate painting schedules to minimize disruption to guests and operations. Assist with general maintenance tasks such as minor carpentry, drywall repair, and surface restoration. Follow all safety procedures related to painting materials, ladders, lifts, and ventilation. Support property-wide upkeep including trash and recycling removal as needed. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering. High School Diploma or GED required; must be at least 18 years of age. 2+ years of professional painting experience preferred (hospitality experience a plus). Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, finishes, and surface preparation. Basic understanding of drywall repair, carpentry, and general maintenance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency. Organized, able to multitask, and customer service oriented. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, and lift up to 100 pounds. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
