Assistant Painter

As an Assistant Painter, you'll contribute to high-quality finishes, learn essential techniques, and support the successful completion of diverse painting jobs. Duties Assist lead painters with surface preparation including sanding and prepping to ensure optimal paint adhesion Prepare surfaces by cleaning, masking, taping, and applying primer as needed for various projects Operate hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns, and sanding equipment safely and effectively Support the application of paints, stains, primers, and specialty coatings on commercial signage structures Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and color schemes based on color theory principles Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites Experience Prior experience or familiarity with construction painting or related trades such as carpentry, masonry, or drywall finishing is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools including drills, sanders, welders, and finishing equipment is advantageous A proactive handyman attitude with skills in paint spraying, restoration work, or maintenance tasks will set you apart For over 45 years, AJ Signs has helped businesses stand out with custom signage and graphics. Pay:
