Job Description
The Faculty-Student Association of Jefferson Community College is a not-for-profit organization that serves the needs of the Jefferson Community College campus community. We are seeking candidates for seasonal cleaning and painting of our residence hall at Jefferson Community College, 1220 Coffeen Street, Watertown, New York. This position runs from mid May to mid August. This is routine and repetitive physical work involving the efficient and economical performance of building cleaning and related tasks. A variety of cleaning tasks are performed according to a well-established procedure. The work is performed under the supervision of an immediate supervisor. Candidate should possess the ability to operate a vacuum cleaner, carpet shampooer, broom, and mop. The goal is to clean, paint and prepare the residence hall for returning students. These are temporary, seasona l positions at 40 hours per week. Hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday thru Friday. Candidates must have the ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to lift heavy objects and perform work requiring bending, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motion; ability to get along well with others; willingness to perform routine cleaning and other physical tasks; willingness to be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and grime; dependability. Must have a high school diploma or GED. All employment is conditional pending satisfactory background clearance at time of hire.
