Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Painter to oversee and execute high-quality painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. As a Lead Painter, you will coordinate teams, ensure safety standards, and deliver exceptional craftsmanship that transforms spaces. Your expertise in various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing will be vital in maintaining our reputation for excellence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead projects from start to finish while mentoring junior team members and ensuring client satisfaction. Duties Lead and supervise painting crews on multiple construction sites, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. Prepare surfaces through sanding, plastering, caulking, and masonry work to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish. Apply paints, stains, primers, and specialty coatings using hand tools, power tools, airless spray equipment, and other application methods. Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory principles, and surface specifications. Perform detailed trim carpentry, fixture installation, restoration work, and remodeling tasks as needed to support project requirements. Manage construction estimating tasks related to material quantities and project timelines for painting projects. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members to coordinate schedules and address project challenges proactively. Maintain accurate documentation of project progress, materials used, and any issues encountered during the job. Experience Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, construction painting, or industrial painting environments with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Extensive knowledge of construction site procedures including scaffolding setup, safety protocols, and site management. Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math calculations for estimating materials and measurements. Hands-on experience with hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers; power tools including sanders, drills; airless paint sprayers; welding equipment; caulking guns; masonry tools; framing carpentry tools; plastering trowels; concrete finishing tools; stucco application tools; fixture installation hardware; renovation equipment; handyman tools; welding gear; maintenance supplies; and power sanders. Familiarity with color theory principles for achieving desired aesthetic effects in various environments. Knowledge of surface preparation techniques such as plastering, caulking (including sealant application), stucco work, restoration processes, masonry finishing techniques, framing carpentry skills (including trim carpentry), concrete finishing methods, welding basics for repairs or custom fixtures. Experience working on construction sites with diverse teams in fast-paced environments requiring adaptability and problem-solving skills.
