Job Description
This position is responsible for preparing, finishing, and painting drywall surfaces in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. This role includes repairing wall imperfections, applying primers and paint, and ensuring a smooth, professional finish that meets project specifications and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare drywall surfaces by sanding, patching, mudding, and cleaning walls and ceilings Repair cracks, holes, dents, and other surface imperfections Apply primer, paint, texture, and finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment Match paint colors and finishes according to customer or project requirements Protect floors, furniture, and surrounding areas with coverings and tape Operate and maintain painting and drywall tools safely Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines Read blueprints, work orders, or project instructions when needed Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met Maintain a clean and organized work area Required Skills and Qualifications 5+ years' Experience with drywall finishing and painting techniques Knowledge of surface preparation and paint application methods Ability to use hand and power tools safely Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Physical ability to stand, climb ladders, lift materials, and work overhead Time management and ability to meet deadlines Good communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED Previous construction or painting experience Experience with texture spraying and finishing Valid driver's license Work Environment Residential homes, commercial buildings, and construction sites May involve working at heights, in dusty conditions, or in varying temperatures
