We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Cabinet Painter Helper to join our finishing team. This is an entry-level position that provides excellent on-the-job training for someone looking to start a career in professional wood finishing and cabinetry. The ideal candidate will assist our lead painters with surface preparation, masking, cleaning, and material handling to ensure high-quality, defect-free finished cabinets.
Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation:
Sand, scrape, and clean cabinet doors, drawers, and boxes to ensure a smooth, professional finish
Surface Filling:
Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty or filler using caulking guns or putty knives.
Equipment Maintenance:
Clean spray guns, brushes, rollers, and other tools after use to keep them in top working condition.
Loading/Unloading:
Transport, load, and unload cabinet components onto racks or into spray booths.
Housekeeping:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment (shop or site).
Support:
Assist the lead painter with mixing paints or stains, applying primer, and handling materials.
Qualifications:
No experience necessary; willingness to learn and work hard is top priority. Basic understanding of, or willingness to learn, hand and power tools (sanders, sprayers). Excellent attention to detail and a high standard for quality. Strong work ethic and punctual attendance. Ability to work well in a team environment. Basic math skills for measuring and mixing. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in a dusty or fume-exposed environment (with provided PPE)
