The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial and industrial painting projects, with a strong understanding of various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing. This role involves working on diverse projects that may include remodeling, restoration, and new construction sites, requiring proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment. The Sandblaster/Painter will collaborate closely with project managers and other trades to ensure high-quality results that meet client specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primer as needed Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, airless spray equipment, or other methods Read blueprints and schematics to determine project scope and specifications Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for surface preparation and finishing tasks Execute fabrication jobs with attention to detail. Ensure proper mixing of paints and materials based on color theory principles for consistent finishes Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols on construction sites Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality expectations Requirements Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or construction site painting projects Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations Familiarity with plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, concrete finishing, masonry work, welding, airless paint spraying, and fixture installation is preferred Strong understanding of color theory for achieving desired aesthetic results Ability to operate hand tools such as scrapers, putty knives, brushes; power tools including drills and sanders; spray equipment; welding tools if applicable Experience with renovation projects involving remodeling or restoration work is a plus Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights when necessary Construction site experience including safety awareness and adherence to protocols Maintenance Person experience or general maintenance skills are advantageous This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within the construction industry while honing your skills in various painting techniques.
