How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:
The Painter prepares various surfaces as needed for painting, applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, other finishes and wallpapers to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, equipment and furniture. Additionally performs a variety of basic mechanical and preventive maintenance, as well as inspections, servicing, repair and overhaul of equipment and facilities. The Painter Investigates need for repairs, collaborating with other facility personnel to ensure timely completion of all approved maintenance projects. Receives assignments, reviews work orders and completes work as specified. Identifies and secures appropriate supplies and equipment, and selects appropriate process techniques. Coordinates, schedules and performs building finishes activities such as patching, painting, varnishing, staining, wall and frame protectors, VCT, base and wallpapering to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces. Restores and/or refinishes damaged wood and metal furniture and facility equipment. Detects malfunctions, maintains and repairs machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's specifications, written and oral instructions. Uses hand and power tools, precision measuring and testing instruments. Applies coatings, and installs special functional and structural parts. Restores damaged surfaces, facilities and equipment. Repairs or replaces defective devices and control instruments, Documents and maintains all required records and information pertinent to work orders, project instruction manuals, blueprints and other such materials as required. Researches new techniques, materials, equipment and makes recommendations to management.
What We Require:
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience:
Three years previous commercial experience in painting and wallpapering trade required. Broad experience in painting and preparatory work to properly apply VCT, base, paints, wallpaper and other finishes safely in a commercial and healthcare environment preferred. Licensure, certification, and/or registration: none.
Other Minimum Qualifications:
Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to communicate with co-workers and others. Ability to maintain required records and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to use a computerized work order control system.
