Job Description
Job Summary The Painter is responsible for maintaining the appearance and condition of residential units, common areas, and organizational properties through painting and surface preparation. This role supports the organization's turnover teams by ensuring living and shared spaces remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. The Painter works closely with the turnover and property management teams to complete painting projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, and priming as necessary. Paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces in residential units, offices, and common areas. Perform touch-up painting as needed to maintain the appearance of properties. Protect floors, fixtures, and furnishings by covering surfaces prior to painting. Clean and maintain painting tools, equipment, and supplies. Ensure consistent paint colors and finishes according to property standards. Inspect painted surfaces and correct any defects or inconsistencies. Maintain clean and safe work areas during and after painting projects. Follow all safety procedures when handling paints, chemicals, ladders, and equipment. Communicate with supervisors regarding project progress, material needs, or maintenance concerns. Maintain inventory of paint, tools, and supplies, and notify the supervisor when materials need to be reordered. Attend staff meetings, safety trainings, and other required meetings. Support maintenance projects that involve painting of offices, hallways, and shared spaces. Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior residential or commercial painting experience preferred. Basic knowledge of painting tools, materials, and surface preparation techniques. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to follow safety procedures and organizational standards. Valid driver's license
