One of the most beloved resorts in New England, The Woodstock Inn & Resort, is seeking a Lead Painter to join the team!
Job Summary:
The Lead Painter is responsible for overseeing interior and exterior painting, floor reconditioning, and various projects from start to finish while actively performing painting work. This role leads a crew of painters, ensures high-quality workmanship, maintains safety standards, and completes projects on schedule and within scope. The Lead Painter serves as the primary point of contact on-site and provides direction, training, and quality control for the painting team.

Expected Pay Range:
Starting $27.00 per hour The pay scale shown is the range that we reasonably expect to pay. Actual compensation offered may be adjusted based on a candidate's qualifications and/or experience.
Shift & Schedule Availability:
Full time year-round, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Weekends and holidays when needed
Job Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of painters on job sites Plan, organize, and assign daily tasks to ensure project deadlines are met Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming Apply paint, stains, coatings, or finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment Ensure all work meets company quality standards and customer expectations Review project plans, specifications, and color schedules Research, recommend, and source best product for conditions and materials Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site Enforce safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Train and mentor painters, including new hires and apprentices Communicate progress, issues, and changes to supervisors or project managers Inspect completed work and perform touch-ups as necessary
Job Requirements:
5+ years of professional painting experience 1-3 years of experience leading or supervising a painting crew Expert knowledge of surface preparation, coatings, and application techniques Ability to read work orders, and project specifications Ensure work, and work site complies with OSHA and Vermont state laws, regulations and statutes Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy. Valid driver's license and clean driving record RRPM lead paint certified or the ability to acquire necessary certifications Climb ladders, kneel, crouch and get into tight spaces and perform repairs on varied surfaces.
