Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • To prepare and paint any and all parts/components and machines in a timely manner to meet any deadlines, shuttle trucks schedule.
  • Maintain the paint bay and all of the equipment.
  • Must have the ability to take a job from start to finish without constant supervision or guidance.
  • Must be able to produce a first class finished product.
  • Must be able to work extended hours when necessary to see a project completed.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
  • To maintain a clean and safe environment in the paint bay, outside area of the paint bay and any surrounding areas.
  • Coordinate the workflow through the wash bay and then to the paint bay to meet schedules.
  • Keep the work flowing in a timely manner.
  • Must work with a positive attitude and spirit of cooperation.
  • Must have the flexibility to quickly change direction on any project and move from job to job with minimum disturbance.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, often times with little advance notice.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY
  • Must be able to read and understand English.
  • Understand operating instructions for different machines.
  • To read and understand maintenance and service procedures for the painting equipment and perform the maintenance as needed.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a safe manner as to avoid harm to him or other personal.
  • Must have experience in the proper preparation of all surfaces to be primed or painted and able to paint the parts/components, machines, and obtain a quality finish.
  • Have a good knowledge of the operation of all types of heavy equipment and all lifting procedures, when using the hoist, and forklift.
  • Must be able to work under pressure with constant completion deadlines.
  • Must be capable of using the various types of paint equipment such as Graco and Binks Spray Equipment.
  • The proper maintenance and use of the respirators.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Walk and/or stand 8 hours on concrete floor in shop that may be very warm or cold.
  • Exposed to all types of paints, thinners and additives.
  • 50 lbs. weight lifting restriction.
  • Use hand for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
  • Use feet frequently in repetitive movement.
  • Frequently bend, squat and climb.
  • Be willing to be exposed to grease, oil, dirt and steam (hot and cold).
  • Be willing to work overtime as needed.
