Job Title Pipefitter II Position Number M02590 Division President - PRS Department HVAC/Steam Plant Department FLSA Non-Exempt Salary Grade 114 Salary Classification Classified Annual Salary Range Hourly Salary Range $17.81 - $23.75 Employment Status Full Time 12 Mos Regular General Description The purpose of this position is to oversee the operations and maintenance of all HVAC related piping and related equipment and systems. Essential Job Duties 1. Install, repair, modify, insulate, clean, and maintain condensate, steam, chilled water, gas and air pipelines. Measure, cut and thread pipes to required lengths and consider the number of fittings necessary. 2. Check and make necessary repairs on steam and chilled water control valves, regulators, traps and manual valves to ensure proper regulation of campus lines and equipment. 3. Inspect buildings, facilities and equipment to ascertain required repairs and make ensure that any problems are reported and take responsibility for completing any necessary repairs. 4. Check and make necessary repairs to pumps. 5. Assist HVAC staff as needed. Change filters and clean equipment as required. 6. Analyze and identify methods to improve the efficiency of HVAC/Steam Plant related equipment. 7. Plan, layout and provide estimates for new or modified equipment and distribution systems. 8. Maintain and store equipment and tools used to perform jobs. Account for labor and materials. Complete work orders and documentation required. 9. Inspect work site for impact on associated trades, and consult with personal to ensure safety and to prevent unplanned equipment outages. Additional Duties None Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic electrical knowledge; Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot steam traps, pumps and related equipment associated with steam distribution systems; Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot campus distribution systems for steamed and chilled water and gas systems; Knowledge of kitchen equipment and appliances; Ability to work on-call and/or before or after work hours as needed. Education and Experience The educational requirement for this position is: High School diploma/GED Education substituted for experience?
