Position Summary The Fire Sprinkler Fitter / Journeyman is responsible for leading on-site installation of fire sprinkler systems at ISAK Fire Protection, ensuring all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with NFPA standards and project specifications. This role works closely with the Foreman, Project Manager, and field crews to deliver high-quality installations across commercial and industrial projects. The Lead Fitter serves as the technical expert in the field, overseeing layout, installation, testing, and coordination of fire protection systems, while mentoring apprentices and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Success in this role directly impacts installation quality, project timelines, safety compliance, and field team development. This position is ideal for a highly skilled, detail-oriented professional who takes ownership of job site execution and leads by example. 2. Core Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily fire sprinkler installation activities on job sites. Install, modify, and repair wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems. Read, interpret, and mark up construction drawings and hydraulic calculations. Perform system layout, including pipe runs, hangers, and equipment placement. Ensure all installations comply with
NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA
25, and local codes. Conduct hydrostatic testing, system flushing, and support final inspections. Coordinate manpower, materials, and job site logistics with Foreman and Project Manager. Monitor installation progress and communicate updates, issues, and delays. Train, mentor, and develop apprentices and junior fitters. Maintain job documentation including daily reports, redlines, and material tracking. Represent ISAK Fire Protection professionally with clients, inspectors, and contractors. Enforce safety standards and proper use of tools, equipment, and PPE. 3. Required Skills & Qualifications 4+ years of fire sprinkler installation experience. Strong knowledge of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems. Advanced understanding of
NFPA 13, NFPA
14, and NFPA 25 standards. Proven ability to lead field crews and coordinate work on active job sites. Strong blueprint reading, layout, and redlining skills. Proficiency in measuring, cutting, threading, and grooving steel and CPVC pipe. Ability to work at heights and lift 50+ lbs. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferredqualifications:
NICET Level II or III in Water-Based Systems Layout. OSHA 30 Certification. Experience operating lifts, threaders, groovers, and fusion machines. Prior Foreman or leadership experience in construction or fire protection.
Pay:
$20.00 - $40.00 per hour
