Pipe Layer - Underground Utilities

Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipeline installation. Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and utility maps to accurately lay out underground utility routes. Install pipelines using pipe lasers for precise alignment and welding techniques for secure connections. Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground utilities and prevent damage during excavation. Perform concrete finishing and concrete forming tasks as needed for supporting structures or pipeline crossings. Ensure proper pipeline placement by adhering to safety standards, building codes, and project specifications. Assist with plumbing tasks related to pipeline connections and maintenance within the construction site. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks in a construction environment. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings related to pipeline installation. Skilled in utility locating techniques to identify underground utilities before excavation begins. Ability to perform welding and concrete finishing tasks with attention to detail. Knowledge of pipeline installation processes within oil & gas or municipal utility projects is highly desirable. Experience with construction site safety protocols and working in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions. Certifications in heavy equipment operation or specialized skills such as pipe laser use are a plus.
