The Pipefitter is responsible for installing, fabricating, and maintaining commercial piping systems in accordance with project specifications and mechanical codes. The ideal candidate has experience working on commercial HVAC and mechanical projects, possesses a strong understanding of blueprints, and maintains a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Per Hour BOE Responsibilities:
Measure, cut, thread, groove, and bend various types of piping materials including carbon steel, copper, and PVC. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings to determine system layouts and installation requirements. Install and secure pipes, fittings, valves, and hangers using hand tools, power tools, and welding or soldering equipment. Assemble pipe sections using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, or solvent cement as required by system design. Perform pressure tests and inspect installed systems to identify and resolve leaks or malfunctions. Collaborate with other trades on-site to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the project timeline. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to OSHA and site-specific safety regulations. Document work progress and report any discrepancies or material shortages to the site supervisor.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial pipefitting or MEP construction. Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and mechanical specifications. Skilled in various pipe joining techniques including threading, grooving, soldering, and fitting. Possession of necessary hand tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) for pipefitting work. Ability to work independently and as part of a crew to meet project deadlines. Reliable transportation to and from the job site. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently. Capability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods during a shift. Manual dexterity to handle small components and operate tools accurately. Ability to climb ladders and work at various heights on scaffolding or lifts. Comfort working in confined spaces and around heavy machinery. Visual acuity to read markings, detect leaks, and inspect weld quality. Hearing sensitivity to detect malfunctioning systems or site safety alarms.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $30 to $32 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
