E. Escher Incorporated is a Georgia based mechanical contractor incorporated in 1990. We self-perform installation of piping, chillers, AHUs, cooling towers, pumps, etc., and subcontract sheet metal, insulation, and control work. Pipe includes copper, PVC, carbon steel, various acid-resistant plastics, cast iron and ductile iron. Joints include threaded, welded, mechanical. Mostly comprised of mechanical and plumbing work, projects are commercial, institutional, and industrial and range from $100k to $15M.Journeyman Pipefitter:
We are looking for experienced Commercial Journeyman Pipefitters who are honest, trustworthy, and self-motivated and consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic. Must provide own reliable transportation. Majority of our jobs are within the City of Atlanta or surrounding area. Work hours normally 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Mon-Fri. Overtime, evening, night, and weekend work as project requires. Employee is required to work at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project Supervisor. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled Foreman and/or Superintendent. Primary Responsibilities inGeneral:
Responsible for having a strong knowledge base of interpreting Mechanical drawings and will need to be able to self-perform his work independently. He will also be held accountable for managing Apprentices under him, all while maintaining a safe work environment.Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of industry experience Must adhere to all safety guidelines and have a strong knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the work. Energetic personality, well organized and ability to work independently Skillset required to supervise and train others Detail oriented Teachable Possesses effective and professional both verbal and written communication skills Ability to follow detailed instructions from field leadership Knows when to ask questions for clarification to ensure work is done correctly Proficient in reading blueprints, specifications, details & submittals In-depth understanding of HVAC/Mechanical systems and equipment Knows how to install thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to HVAC system Considerable knowledge of standard tools, systems, methods and materials (copper, Cast, PVC, PEX, etc.) Correctly install soldered, brazed, threaded, grooved, pressed, glued, and fused piping systems. Must provide own hand tools appropriate to trade that are in good condition and meet safety requirements High School Diploma required.Leadership Qualifications:
Has the ability to manage personnel by leading, motivating, developing, and directing people as they work. Critical thinker with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems Possesses good judgment and decision-making ability and knows to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions. Monitoring or assessing the performance of yourself, other individuals, or subcontractors to make improvements or take corrective action.Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrate solid understanding and adherence to all company and client required safety policies, procedures and ensures apprentices and helpers are always in compliance Lead by example in all areas, starting with safety requirements. Must have awareness of surroundings and potential safety risks including those caused by others. Able to move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas and maintain balance Install various new HVAC & mechanical piping systems in commercial and industrial settings Read and interpret Mechanical, Plumbing, Architectural & Structural drawings Proper lay out of installations for efficient installation Create drawings and sketches of systems to be installed Pressure testing of various systems using the correct testing medium/method Coordination with other trades to ensure efficiency of installation Capably install soldered, brazed, threaded, grooved, pressed, glued, and fused piping systems. Thorough understanding of fit up of pipe to be welded & installing it (minimal position welds). Accurately communicates tool & material needs to foreman Effectively discusses and communicates in a timely fashion proper material stock, material and tool needs to supervise efficient installations ( look ahead ) Install new HVAC/mechanical systems in new build or renovation projects Supervise Apprentices and Helpers Provide leadership & mentoring to less experienced coworkers Thorough knowledge of safe rigging practices Physical Requirements Workday requires physical work indoors or outdoors in varying conditions/temperatures Strong finger and manual dexterity for handling pipes and plumbing fixtures. Must be able to lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to, proper shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.) Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas. Will need to climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. Will need to stoop, kneel, or bend, on a regular basis Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures. Work a consistent 40-hour week and be on time Can lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basisGeneral Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation to and from work Background check is required Drug test required. (Escher is a Drug Free Workplace) Must be able to start work and be ready to go at 6:00AM OSHA 10Preferred:
OSHA 30 Completion of a recognized trade school or apprenticeship. Welding Experience (if applicable): Current Welding Certification if applicable In-depth knowledge of various welding Procedures Strong awareness of basic welding safety (hazards, floor and wall openings) Thorough understanding of fit up of pipe to be welded & installing it (minimal position welds)Benefits:
