Description GC employs more than 120 skilled craft workers that focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction. We offer general, commercial and industrial construction including electrical work, millwrights, pipe fitters and structural steel detailers. Headquartered in Newport, Kentucky and have been servicing local, regional, and international clients since 1978. EGC is committed to safety and the continuous improvement of our safety systems. We are currently seeking pipe fitters for the Process/Utility Piping Systems in the Food and Beverage and Pharmaceutical Industries.
What You Will Do:
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and P&ID's Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains process and utility piping systems Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions and determine proper pipe path clearance Cuts pipe using saws, pipe cutter, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs to process and production equipment Perform planned maintenance, inspection and installation on process and production equipment Follow job site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards and protect self and others
What You Will Bring:
Ability to keep work ahead of welders
OSHA 10/30
Certified Using facing tools, Fischer saws, and other process related tools General knowledge of piping layout and routing Knowledge of general piping systems Combination fitter/welder is a plus High school diploma or equivalent Candidates must have transportation and good communication skills Be willing to work within a 50-mile radius. Willingness to travel to other states for work is a plus! Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions EGC is a merit shop contractor supporting a Team working environment. All Team members will be required from time to time to perform other duties they are qualified to perform, outside of this job description and their normal work function.
