Job Description

Job Title:
Pipe Planner Location:
Lockport, La Position Overview:
The Planner Pipe is responsible for planning and coordinating pipefitting and welding activities within the organization. The role requires a solid understanding of pipe craft at the fitting and welding levels, as well as proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications. The Planner Pipe will need to effectively read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, while demonstrating strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and sequence pipefitting and welding operations, ensuring all tasks are optimally organized to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret complex blueprints, isometrics, and technical drawings to ensure exact fabrication and installation requirements are met.
  • Determine, source, and track required pipe materials, fittings, and welding consumables based on project specifications.
  • Create detailed work orders and work packages to guide fitters and welders and monitor progress to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Act as a central point of contact between project management, quality control, scheduling, and field production teams.
  • Maintain accurate records, track labor hours, and manage project data using Microsoft Office applications (such as MS Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Ensure all piping fabrications and welds comply with established company standards, project specifications, and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of (3) years of pipe craft experience, specifically in fitting and/or welding.
Skills and Abilities:
    Technical Skills:
    Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.
      Blueprint Interpretation:
      Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
        Communication Skills:
        Strong verbal and written communication skills.
          Organizational Skills:
          Excellent organizational abilities, with a strong capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
