  • Full-time Overview Join our team as a Laborer Pipe Layer specializing in underground utilities.
This role offers the opportunity to work on vital infrastructure projects, laying the groundwork for essential services like storm, sewer, and water mains. You'll be out on customer construction sites, utilizing your experience in construction operation and utility installation to ensure safe, efficient, and precise pipe placement. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipe installation. Read and interpret construction blueprints and utility plans to accurately lay out pipe routes and specifications. Install underground utilities such as water, storm sewer and sanitary sewer with precision and adherence to safety standards. Use pipe lasers and other specialized tools to ensure proper alignment and elevation of pipes during installation. Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground services before excavation begins, preventing damage or service disruptions. Perform concrete finishing tasks related to utility access points or trench backfilling when necessary. Perform grade checking duties, including verifying elevations, slopes, and alignment using grade rods, laser levels, pipe lasers and other surveying tools. Assist with concrete forming, plumbing connections, and other construction activities as required on site. Requirements Operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks in construction settings. Ability to read blueprints, grade stakes, and utility plans accurately; familiarity with pipe lasers. Knowledge of underground utility installation processes including pipe laying and plumbing connections. Experience with utility locating techniques to identify existing underground infrastructure safely. Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols. Familiarity with pipe lasers and grading instruments is required. Experience with concrete finishing or forming are advantageous, cutting, fitting and joining pipe sections (concrete, PVC, iron). Construction site experience with a focus on underground utilities or pipeline projects preferred.
