Full Job Description Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Layer with experience in storm water, water, and sewer systems to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground piping systems, ensuring they are installed accurately and in compliance with project specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of pipe installation techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Pipe Installation:

Lay, align, and connect pipes for storm water, water, and sewer systems, ensuring proper grading, slope, and alignment.

Site Preparation:

Excavate and prepare trenches, ensuring that the pipe bedding and backfill materials meet required specifications for each type of system.

Blueprint Interpretation:

Accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to determine pipe placement and installation requirements.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following proper excavation and shoring procedures.

System Testing:

Inspect and test installed systems for leaks, proper flow, and adherence to specifications, making necessary adjustments or repairs.

Equipment Operation:

Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in pipe laying, such as trenchers, lasers, pipe cutters, and compactors.

Problem Solving:

Identify and resolve issues that arise during installation, including adjusting pipe placement or repairing damaged sections.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the project team, including engineers, foremen, and equipment operators, to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Pipe Layer with specific experience in storm water, water, and sewer systems. Strong understanding of pipe installation techniques, materials, and best practices for different types of systems. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints accurately. Familiarity with tools and equipment used in pipe laying and underground utility installation. Physical stamina and the ability to work in various outdoor conditions. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license (if required).

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or training in pipe laying or a related field. Experience with both residential and commercial projects. Knowledge of local codes and regulations related to storm water, water, and sewer system installation.

Working Conditions:

Work is primarily outdoors, often in varying weather conditions. The role involves physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces or at heights. May require working extended hours or on weekends as project needs dictate.
