JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
Move loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard. Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintain organized work supplies. Follow safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe. Operate powered industrial equipment per OSHA guidelines and Client procedures. Set up and maintain machines for pipe fabrication. Measure, record, and add random pipe lengths accurately. Measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches. Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines. Inspect and maintain forklift equipment.
Qualifications:
Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team. Strong math skills for calculating product quantities. Knowledge of safe work practices in the pipe yard. Experience with machinery for cutting and threading pipe (training provided). Results-focused in a fast-paced environment. Capable of reading a tape measure accurately. Good computer skills for automated machinery. 6-8 months recent experience with machinery such as pipe threaders, band saws, roll groove machines, plasma cutting, automatic welding machines, and pneumatic banders. Ability to sort or shift pipe ranging from ½" to 10". Preferred experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication (6-8 months).
