Job Purpose The Pipe Yard Specialist will increase operational efficiency, company profitability, and customer satisfaction by accurately and safely pulling, receiving, and loading pipe. Work Schedule This position will most typically work Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM with a half hour lunch break. Duties and Responsibilities Pulling pipe orders accurately, efficiently, and safely Unloading pipe trucks Receiving pipe inventory in the computer system accurately Load trucks to ensure that no product is damaged in shipment in conjunction with the Warehouse Coordinator's route Keeping pipe yard neat, organized, and safe. Keep pipe racks stocked with correct material Responsible for all inventory in the yard, including quantity counts, damaged material, etc. Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, maintain required certification, perform vehicle safety checks and report discrepancies to manager/supervisor Follow all established policy and safety guidelines in a drug-free workplace Process and print paperwork accurately and in a timely manner Follow company and OSHA Safety policies and procedures All other duties, as assigned. Regular and appropriate attendance is an essential function of this and all positions at APS. Skills Must be able to operate a large forklift Able to work and succeed in a fast paced environment Willing to work outside for 8 hours a day in all weather conditions Accuracy and attention to detail Recognizes and understands product numbers and alpha/numeric codes Operates forklifts in compliance with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requirements Team player who works productively with wide range of people Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills Able to multi-task Able to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) Able to work independently with some direction Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures Problem-solving and analytical ability Basic computer/keyboarding skills Education and Experience High school diploma/GED required General pipe knowledge preferred Certifications and Licenses Forklift preferred Working Conditions and Physical Requirements This position is outside and will require working in hot, cold, rainy, and snowy conditions. It requires the ability to lift/carry/pull heavy material or equipment up to 75 pounds. It also requires the ability to stand/walk for duration of work hours and climb stairs, descend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and feel.
