Journeyman Pipefitter

Job Summary The Journeyman Pipefitter is responsible for assembling, installing, repairing, and testing piping systems in accordance with project specifications and applicable building codes.
This role works under the direction of a leadman, foreman, or supervisor and supports the successful execution of commercial and industrial construction projects. Essential Duties Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings to plan installation sequences
Install, maintain, and repair piping systems including:
Heating, cooling, gas, steam, and industrial processing systems
Lay out, assemble, align, and install pipes, fittings, valves, and hangers using hand and power tools
Perform pipe fabrication tasks including cutting, threading, welding, brazing, soldering, and grooving
Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, arc, and gas-shielded arc)
Measure, mark, and cut openings in walls and floors for pipe installation
Install sleeves and penetrations; support excavation and backfilling as needed
Test piping systems (air/water) to identify leaks and ensure proper functionality
Inspect work areas and identify structural or installation concerns
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all PPE and safety protocols
Support safety initiatives, including pre-task planning
Mentor and assist apprentices and less experienced team members
Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; trade or technical training preferred
Relevant equipment certifications required
4+ years of pipefitting experience in construction or industrial environments
