WELDER - GAS DISTRIBUTION
Established, underground utility company is looking for a
GAS WELDER
for underground gas utility installation.
ONG CERTIFIED
preferred but can train.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN WELDING ON GAS DISTRIUBTION.
•Position Summary Seeking dedicated people with the desire to learn and build a career while exceeding the highest quality and safety standards. Welders are assigned to crews installing steel natural gas distribution pipelines. •Standard Position Tasks Weld steel pipes underground and in trenches Construct, install, and maintain piping systems, appurtenances, and equipment for gas, on the basis of knowledge of system operation and study of working drawings and gas standards manuals. Performs all work safely and follows company policies and procedures at all times. Interprets safety data sheets (SDSs) and identifies chemicals using the Hazardous Material Identification. Properly wears personal protective equipment (PPE) to perform work safely. Ensures preventive maintenance and inspection procedures are being performed and recorded. Reads and interprets procedures, product manufacturer instructions, and customer construction standards. Examines and tests piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks. Use calibrated inspection tools Verify specifications by performing and recording QA tests & measurements on a wide variety of equipment Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications Perform regular maintenance and cleaning on tools and equipment Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors •Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of construction principles, methods, procedures, and safety. Ability to maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations. Mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers for balancing or compiling figures. Written communication skill to fill out routine forms and records. Ability to read and understand simple instructions and short memos. Ability to follow specific, step-by-step instructions, standard procedures, and operating guidelines. Ability to work, cooperate, and contribute as a team player with all groups and/or departments. Ability to interact with public, supervisors, and coworkers professionally at all times Ability to think clearly no matter the stress or difficulty of your circumstances Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence Ability to comprehend and communicate specific directions in English to ensure the safety of all Desire to learn and commitment to working safely Education and Experience 12 months experience welding steel pipes •Physical and Environmental Demands Ability to tolerate work in the extremes of weather without complaining is essential Distinguish safety colors with 20/20 eyesight using corrective lenses if necessary Ability to speak and hear worksite safety instructions Withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling Ability to work with a heightened awareness within the "red zone" of heavy equipment Ability to stand for long periods (up to 14 hours at a time) Quick and accurate hand-eye coordination to work safely Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice •Post Hire Requirements Maintain satisfactory safety record Perform all duties in conformance to safety and security standards Pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens Provide US work authorization documents Satisfactory Criminal History Check Pass all qualification tests Apply in person at 4320 SW 29TH ST OKC, OK or call for more details at 817-813-5175
