The Pipelayer will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining underground piping systems for water, sewer, gas, and storm drains according to project specifications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate safety awareness, attention to detail, and teamwork skills. Key Responsibilities Excavate and prepare trenches for piping installations. Align and position pipes according to blueprints and specifications. Connect and seal pipe joints using a variety of materials and techniques. Inspect pipes for leakage and structural integrity. Backfill trenches after pipe installation and ensure proper compaction. Operate hand and power tools, including trenching machines and tampers. Assist with site safety and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Collaborate with other construction team members to complete projects efficiently. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of experience as a pipelayer or in underground utility construction. Ability to safely operate construction equipment and tools. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials. Basic knowledge of construction safety practices. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Preferred Qualifications Experience with large commercial or municipal projects. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Familiarity with OSHA guidelines. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Skills and Competencies Attention to detail Problem-solving ability Teamwork and interpersonal skills Time management Adaptability in changing work environments Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
