Fire Sprinkler Fitter About the Company Professional Fire Protection, has been an industry leader for fire protection services in the Virginia, and eastern North Carolina area. We are based in Norfolk and Ashland, VA and have an excellent team of employees who are responsible for the design, installation, service, and inspection of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, kitchen fire suppression systems, and fire extinguishers. We have an extensive customer base that we perform recurring inspection and repair services throughout the region. Our company is continually growing through its internal sales and marketing activities, strong reputation, and business acquisitions. About The Opportunity The Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of fire protection codes, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on job sites. Job Duties Install, modify, and repair fire sprinkler systems in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and hydraulic calculations Measure, cut, thread, groove, and assemble pipe using hand and power tools Hang and secure piping systems, including supports and seismic bracing Perform system testing, inspections, and troubleshooting Coordinate work with other trades and contractors on site Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and safety regulations Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition Complete required documentation, reports, and timekeeping accurately Participate in on-call or after-hours emergency service as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Completion of sprinkler fitter apprenticeship or equivalent experience Knowledge of applicable fire codes (e.g., NFPA 13, NFPA 25) Ability to read construction drawings and specifications Proficiency with pipefitting tools and equipment Valid driver's license Compensation Pay is hourly and is negotiable - dependent on candidate experience Quarterly bonuses Benefits 401K with a company match Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Company paid Short Term Disability Company paid Long Term Disability Company paid Life and AD&D insurance Pre-tax accounts for health and dependent care Aflac Vacation and Personal time Paid holidays Tuition Reimbursement Professional Fire Protection is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and prohibits employment discrimination for employees and applicants based on his or her age, race, color, pregnancy, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, marital status, citizenship, or because he or she is an individual with a disability, protected veteran or other status protected by federal, state, and local laws.
