GED Full Job Description Job Duties:
To assist the pipefitter with various tasks and functions related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of pressured piping systems. Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assisting Pipefitters :
Pipe fitter helpers work alongside experienced pipefitters, providing support during various stages of pipe installation and repair. They assist with configuring, arranging, and securing pipes, fittings, and other components.
Material Handling :
Helpers transport pipes, tools, and materials to the work area. They may also help load and unload materials from trucks or storage areas.
Cutting and Preparing Materials :
Helpers assist in cutting pipes to the required lengths using saws or other cutting tools. They may also be involved in beveling, threading, and deburring pipe ends.
Assembling and Aligning Pipes :
Pipe fitter helpers assist in assembling pipes, fittings, and valves. They ensure proper alignment and fit by following blueprints, specifications, or instructions from the lead pipefitter.
Installing Supports and Hangers :
Helpers assist in installing pipe supports, brackets, and hangers to secure pipes in place. Proper support is essential to prevent sagging or misalignment.
Cleanup and Maintenance :
After installation, helpers clean up the work area, remove debris, and organize tools and materials. They may also assist with routine maintenance tasks.
Learning and Skill Development :
While working alongside experienced pipefitters, helpers gain practical knowledge and skills related to pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety procedures.
Safety Protocols :
Ensure that you are following all company safety protocols for site and meeting OSHA and L&I standards. Essential skills Communication, basic math/measurement knowledge, organization, sense of urgency, attention to detail Working Conditions Expected working hours and conditions are as follows: Monday - Friday, 7AM to 3:30 PM Work is in the field on job site at various locations within five Puget Sound counties. Minimum Requirements Must be 18 years old Must have high school diploma or GED. Must be physically able to perform the work of the trade. Must have reliable transportation. Must pass an appropriate drug test. Basic Math and Reading Must enjoy working independently and outdoors Join Local 699
Sprinkler Fitter Union Obtain Washington State Fitter Trainee Card Direct Reports None Salary Range :
$24.24 per hour
Paid Time Off:
40 hours annually accrued at 0.025 per hour worked. Eight (8) Paid Holidays
