Job Description

Position Overview Pipefitters at TCL Specialties play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems that support plant operations. This position requires strong technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in an industrial environment. Pipefitters ensure that all piping systems are assembled to specification, operate efficiently, and meet TCL's quality and safety standards. This temporary position includes health benefits , 401K with a company match, 18 annual PTO days (more based on industry experience), 6 paid Holidays, 1 paid floating Holiday of your choice, competitive hourly pay, and retention bonuses at the 6‑month and 12‑month marks.
Retention Bonus:
$2,000 after 6 months of continuous employment Additional $2,000 after 12 months of continuous employment
Schedule:
Full‑time; overtime and weekend work may be required Key Responsibilities Install, assemble, fabricate, and repair piping systems according to blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. Lay out, position, and secure parts of piping systems using welding, bolting, or other fastening methods. Inspect piping systems for leaks, defects, or misalignment and make necessary adjustments. Work with a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, copper, and specialty alloys. Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing to verify system integrity. Collaborate with welders, millwrights, and maintenance teams to complete projects efficiently. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and system changes. Follow all TCL safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA regulations. Troubleshoot piping issues and recommend corrective actions to minimize downtime. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience as a pipefitter in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical drawings. Strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, tools, and materials. Skilled in layout, fabrication, and installation of piping systems. Ability to perform precise measurements and calculations. Familiarity with welding processes (TIG, MIG, stick) is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability. Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and operate in confined spaces. Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to TCL safety standards. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a pipefitter apprenticeship program or equivalent on‑the‑job experience preferred. Certifications such as
OSHA 10/30, NCCER
Pipefitting, or related credentials are beneficial. Work Environment Industrial plant setting with exposure to heat, noise, and rotating equipment. Requires use of PPE including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel‑toe boots. May involve overtime, shift work, or on‑call assignments depending on operational needs.
