Position Title:
Pipeline Operator Responsible for the operation and monitoring of the day-to-day anhydrous ammonia pipeline operations. Able to identify, react, and provide appropriate response to Abnormal Operating Conditions (AOCs) that may occur on the pipeline system. Self-disciplined to counter fatigue management while working 12-hour shifts and an alternating shift schedule (modified Panama schedule). Maintaining qualified Operator Qualifications (OQ) status necessary to start up, monitor pressures and flows to ensure system is operated within allowable limits, shutdown, as well remotely and manually opening and closing system valves. Some computer skills required to operate Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. Data entry on computer software and manual documentation required. Communication skills required for internal, customer, and the public as needed. The ability to monitor pressures and flows and maintain within allowable limits and document as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to pass FBI background check and TSA security screening for TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
- Must be drug free and able to pass DOT mandated pre-employment and random drug testing, in accordance with company policy.
- Able to wear air purifying cartridge/self-contained breathing apparatus mask and work in hazardous chemical environment
- Must maintain OQ qualifications at all times
- Must maintain clean and tidy work areas and equipment
- Communication skills, both verbal and written
- Possession/maintain a valid Florida Driver's license & reliable transportation Candidates must possess a neat appearance and be prepared for a variety of weather conditions This position regularly works inside but also consists of walk around inspections outside and occasionally may include exposure to fumes or airborne particles and loud noise levels The preferred candidate will be an excellent communicator, assertive problem-solver and action-oriented team player.
Must have a relentlessly positive, flexible, do-whatever-it-takes attitude; must be fast on your feet, and poised under pressure
