Position Summary REI is seeking a CCTV Operator to join its growing team. In this role, the operator will be responsible for conducting closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspections of sanitary and storm sewer systems using advanced robotic camera equipment. The candidate will work as part of a crew to document pipe conditions, identify defects, and record video and data in compliance with client specifications and NASSCO standards. This position requires attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in field environments under varying weather conditions. What We're Looking For Valid driver's license (CDL Class B preferred but not required) Minimum 2 years' experience operating CCTV pipeline inspection systems or equivalent field experience in underground utilities Familiarity with
NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP
coding preferred Experience with WinCan, POSM, GraniteNet, or SewerAI data collection software Strong mechanical aptitude for setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining camera equipment Ability to read and interpret maps, as-builts, and work orders Safety-minded and team-oriented Ability to pass security clearance and pre-employment screening Willingness to work variable shifts, extended hours, and travel as needed High attention to detail and organizational skills CPR/First Aid, Confined Space Entry, and OSHA 10 certifications (preferred) Physical ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ pounds and perform manual labor in field conditions Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain CCTV camera equipment, crawlers, and control systems for inspecting sewer and storm lines Record high-quality video and collect inspection data according to NASSCO and client standards Document and code pipeline defects accurately in WinCan, POSM, or equivalent software Perform daily equipment checks, maintenance, and calibrations Set up work zones and ensure safety compliance per DOT, OSHA, MOSHA, DeKalb County, and REI safety standards Work closely with the Vac-Truck Operator and Field Technicians to coordinate cleaning and inspection sequences Complete required reports, logs, and digital data uploads daily Communicate clearly with the Project Manager or Supervisor regarding issues, findings, or delays Ensure proper care and storage of camera reels, cables, and field laptops Participate in safety meetings and job briefings Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years' experience operating CCTV pipeline inspection systems Valid driver's license (CDL preferred) Strong computer and mechanical skills Familiarity with NASSCO standards and inspection software Clean driving record Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and confined environments What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Growth opportunities in a supportive environment Compensation and Benefits Competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives Medical, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid life insurance policy Paid holidays and generous personal paid time off (PTO) 401(k) retirement plan with company match Company vehicle stipend or mileage reimbursement Career advancement opportunities in a growing company Working at REI At REI, we're committed to a culture that prioritizes safety, service excellence, and integrity .
