In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance aesthetics, and ensure quality craftsmanship on every job site. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that require precision, creativity, and a strong understanding of painting techniques. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools. Read blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications and color schemes based on color theory principles. Perform specialized tasks including plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, and fixture installation as needed. Assist with renovation projects by handling framing, drywall installation, restoration work, and basic carpentry tasks like framing and schematics interpretation. Maintain safety protocols on construction sites by using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to safety guidelines. Collaborate with team members to estimate materials needed for projects and support construction estimating efforts. Conduct quality checks throughout the project to ensure smooth finishes and adherence to client specifications. Skills Extensive experience with residential painting as well as commercial and industrial painting projects. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings for accurate project execution. Strong knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic effects. Hands-on experience with hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, caulking guns, and power tools including sanders and spray equipment. Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to paint coverage, and estimating material quantities. Knowledge of related trades such as carpentry (trim carpentry), masonry (stucco), plastering, welding (for industrial applications), concrete finishing, masonry work, fixture installation, remodeling, restoration projects, maintenance tasks, airless paint spraying techniques, and handyman experience.
