In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance aesthetics, and ensure quality craftsmanship across diverse environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects that require precision, creativity, and a strong work ethic. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other coatings using hand tools like brushes and rollers or power tools such as airless sprayers. Read blueprints, schematics, and schematics to accurately determine project scope and specifications. Perform specialized painting tasks including drywall finishing (plastering), stucco application, masonry coating, and industrial painting. Execute renovation and restoration projects by repairing or replacing damaged surfaces with skills in carpentry, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, and masonry. Use construction estimating skills to assess project needs and materials required for each job. Maintain safety standards on construction sites by properly handling tools such as scaffolding, welding equipment, power tools, and hand tools while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with fixture installation and perform maintenance tasks as needed to support ongoing projects. Qualifications Proven experience in residential and commercial painting with a strong understanding of construction site procedures. Knowledge of color theory to select appropriate finishes that meet client specifications. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, airless paint spraying equipment, and scaffolding safely and effectively. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately. Experience with plastering, stucco application, caulking, restoration work, and renovation projects. Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating paint quantities; familiarity with construction estimating is a plus. Background in carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry), masonry (concrete finishing), welding (for industrial applications), or handyman experience is highly desirable. Construction site experience including working at heights and in various environmental conditions. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills to address unforeseen challenges during projects.
