Commercial Journeyman and Apprentice Plumbers Job Description This role oversees basic commercial plumbing work on school construction projects in Lone Tree and Broomfield. You will lead and perform installation of copper and cast iron piping systems, using propress connections, threading pipe, and installing control valves to support the successful completion of short-term school builds. Responsibilities Install copper and cast iron piping systems on commercial school construction sites. Use propress tools and methods to connect copper and cast iron pipes safely and efficiently. Thread pipe and install control valves according to project specifications and schedules. Interpret and follow plumbing layouts and, when available, blueprints to ensure accurate installation. Assist with basic underground plumbing tasks as required by the project scope. Perform soldering work when needed to complete piping connections and repairs. Coordinate daily tasks with site leadership to meet project timelines and quality expectations. Inspect installed piping systems for proper alignment, secure connections, and compliance with project requirements. Maintain and use personal plumbing tools safely, while utilizing provided specialty tools correctly. Follow all site safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment at all times. Support a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety on the job site. Communicate clearly with team members and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and resolve on-site issues promptly. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with commercial plumbing projects. Proficiency installing and working with copper pipe. Proficiency installing and working with cast iron pipe. Experience using propress systems to connect copper and cast iron piping. Experience threading pipe and installing control valves. Ability to read and follow basic construction layouts for plumbing installations. Capability to perform basic underground plumbing tasks. Ability to work consistently on an active construction site from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Ownership of basic plumbing hand tools required for daily tasks. Ownership of required personal protective equipment, including safety vest, type 1 hard hat, gloves, work boots, and safety glasses. Additional Skills & Qualifications Blueprint reading experience is a plus and helps with accurate layout and installation. Layout experience for plumbing systems is a plus. Soldering experience is a plus and supports more complex piping connections. Comfort working on short-term, project-based assignments. No active DORA license is required for this role. Why Work Here? The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You will work primarily outdoors and in partially finished school buildings, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and typical construction-site activity. The environment is hands-on and tool-intensive, with specialty tools supplied on-site while you bring your own basic plumbing tools. A safety-focused culture is emphasized, and you must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including a safety vest, type 1 hard hat, gloves, work boots, and safety glasses, throughout the workday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Broomfield, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
