Commercial Plumbing Apprentice

Learn the plumbing trade by working alongside one of our most seasoned plumbing foreman. A Plumbing Apprentice can earn between $18 - $25 per hour, depending on your prior experience. Assist With Plumbing Installations Help install pipes, fittings, water heaters, fixtures, and drainage systems Measure, cut, thread, or assemble pipes under supervision Hand tools and materials to the lead plumber as needed 2. Support Repairs and Maintenance Assist with diagnosing plumbing issues Help repair leaks, clogs, broken fixtures, and damaged pipes Perform basic tasks such as tightening fittings or removing old components 3. Job Site Preparation and Cleanup Set up tools, equipment, and materials at the start of each job Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized Load and unload tools and supplies from company vehicles 4. Safety and Compliance Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE Help secure job sites to prevent hazards Learn and follow local plumbing codes and company policies 5. Tools & Equipment Handling Operate basic plumbing tools such as: Pipe cutters Wrenches Saws Augers Drain cleaning equipment Perform simple tool maintenance (cleaning, organizing, checking for damage) 6. Customer Service Support Communicate politely with customers when present on-site Help answer simple questions or refer them to the lead plumber Maintain a professional appearance and attitude Qualifications & Skills Required Ability to perform physical labor (lifting, bending, digging, crawling) Basic mechanical or construction knowledge Willingness to learn plumbing techniques and safety procedures Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Preferred (but not always required) 2+ years experience in construction or plumbing Basic understanding of tools and materials Work Environment Indoor and outdoor job sites Tight spaces or elevated locations Variable weather conditions Use of protective gear (gloves, boots, goggles, etc.) Career Growth A plumbing helper is often the first step toward: Apprentice Plumber Journeyman Plumber Master Plumber Lead Technician or Field Supervisor A valid drivers license with a clean driving record is a necessity for this position, as you will need to drive a company vehicle. The position comes with paid time off, vacation and holiday pay, as well as health, vision, and dental insurance.
