Job Description

Responsibilities Plumber-Apprentice Responsibilities:
Plumber will be responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation, and repair of the plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings/applications. Performs routine maintenance of plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings. Respond to plumbing calls from the project manager. Installs plumbing systems in new construction and rehab properties. Adheres to current rules and regulations related to plumbing so that systems pass inspections the first time. Interprets blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials. Reads blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems. Work truck must be kept clean and washed at all times. Uses saws and pipe cutters as necessary, properly and safely. Collaborates with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipe fitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing systems. Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems. Analyzes problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repairs. Chooses plumbing materials based on budget, location, and intended uses of building. Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes. Writes report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken. Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts. Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring.) Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, etc. Installs waste disposal and sanitary systems with well-functioning DWV systems.
