Job Description SUMMARY Ensures District campusesply with city, state, and federal plumbing codes. Performs the repair and maintenance of plumbing systems throughout the District. Maintains all potable water systems protected from cross-connection and contamination Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs plumbing work in accordance with the Uniform Plumbing Code and National Fuel Gas Code. Repair or replace broken or damaged plumbing fixtures and ancillary equipment. Repair or replace broken or damaged supply or waste line and ancillary equipment. Removes blockages from sanitary lines and drains. Troubleshoots all problems associated with natural gas or LPG operated equipment. Procures all necessary materials for thepletion of assigned work following established requisition procedures. Maintains an inventory of supplies required for daily work. Installs and maintains irrigation sprinkler systems, clothes washers, dryers, dishwashers, disposals and water heaters. Maintains and/or installs storm sewer systems. Maintains and/or installspressed air lines. Assists in draining any bodies of water or ponding areas through use of pumping equipment. Repairs and/or replaces lift pumps, booster pumps and submersible pumps and ancillary equipment. Follows procedures as outlined in the Maintenance and Operation hand book when performing duties and responsibilities. Performs other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Valid Driver's License Valid New Mexico C.I.D. Journeyman Plumbing Certificate Supplemental InformationLANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to mon sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and up to 90 pounds occasionally. Ability to properly use and care for job related tools and equipment. Frequent District wide travel. The employee will sometime push/pull items such as table, bleachers, scrubbing machines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision , depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Maintains emotional control under stress.WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposure to extreme temperatures, dusts, fumes and odors While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly works indoors and will work outdoors. The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment. The employee may occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, sprays. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
